Survey on social and private cost estimation [SIC]
Starting Monday, November 4, the Central Bank of Costa Rica (BCCR) will conduct the Payment Habits Survey.
Starting Monday, November 4, 2024, the Central Bank of Costa Rica will conduct the Payment Habits Survey through the company CID Gallup, which will reach nationwide and on a face-to-face basis households and businesses to collect information required to estimate the social costs in Costa Rica linked to payment transactions and instruments such as cash, payment cards, SINPE Mobile, and electronic transfers, among others.
Information provided by respondents will be used exclusively by the BCCR for macroeconomic statistics that are the insight for the economic analysis to support decision-making by public institutions and private enterprises. As in the rest of the Bank’s surveys, the BCCR reaffirms its commitment to adequate data treatment, under the provisions in Article 14 of the Organic Law of BCCR and Article 20 of the National Statistics System Law.
The BCCR reminds the public that it will never request bank account numbers, passwords, or personal information through any communication channel, including telephone calls or website links.
