Participants
Entities that are part of the National Financial System and
public institutions can participate in the SINPE as associates. Financial
entities include commercial banks, special banks, mutual savings and credit
institutions, financial companies, savings and credit cooperatives, stock
exchanges, pension operators, investment fund management companies, services
marketers, solidary associations and operators of payment media. Public institutions
associated with the SINPE include the following: the Ministry of Finance, the Costa
Rican Social Security Fund, the National Insurance Institute, the Institute for Municipal Development
and Advisory Service (IFAM) and the
Costa Rican Electricity Institute. All of these participants are directly
connected to the SINPE and can use the different services that it offers them.
