In conformity with the Regulations for the acquisition of currency of the Central Bank of Costa Rica, the institution has a pre-qualification model for manufacturers of bills and coins, based on the technical competences and experience of each company, for selecting those companies that are qualified, trustworthy and reliable to manufacture national currency.
Based on the latest market surveys carried out by the BCCR, the following are the pre-qualified companies:
